Have you ever used your outdoor grill (BBQ’er) to cook your breakfast?

My daughter & son-in-law go camping all the time, and cook ALL their meals on the BBQ they bring with them. You can stick a cast iron skillet on top and make eggs, pancakes, French toast, whatever……

I personally dont do this because its outside.. and because its a grill.. meaning its most likely dirty… i dont see anything wrong with cooking your everyday meals on it though because it will get the job done.

I would suggest using cookware other than your inside cookware so they wont get damaged.

it is safe…i just dont do it because it take forever to get the BBQ grill heated so I jsut use the stove. But I do use the BBG grill for dinner or lunch

Consider cold stuff for breakfast, cereal and fruits and smoothies. The microwave is also a good option-does not heat up the kitchen and is fast. But yes the grill can be used for breakfast.

Sure, all you need is a cast iron skillet. Steak and eggs come to mind, or here is a great recipe using bacon, egg, and potatoes.

    Campfire Skillet Breakfast
    Yields: 8 servings

“Bacon, eggs, and potatoes are cooked together over the campfire for a hearty start to your morning! This is the one recipe we always cook when camping, it’s easy and very filling.”
    INGREDIENTS:
    1/2 pound sliced bacon
    4 cups potatoes, peeled and
    cubed
1/2 onion, chopped (optional) 6 eggs, beaten
    1 cup shredded Cheddar
    cheese

    DIRECTIONS:
    1. Cook bacon to desired doneness in a cast iron skillet over the slow burning coals of your grill. Remove bacon from the skillet and set aside. Stir the potatoes and onion into the hot bacon fat. Cover, and cook until the potatoes are soft, about 10 to 12 minutes.
    2. Crumble the bacon into the potatoes. Stir in the eggs, cover, and cook until set through, about 2 minutes. Sprinkle with the cheese, and allow to melt before serving.

    YES BY ALL MEANS.

    GET A CAST IRON GRIDDLE.

IT WILL HEAT BETTER THAN A FRY PAN AND ALLOWS THE HEAT TO COME OVER EDGE FOR FASTER COOKING.

AND COFFEE IS QUITE TASTY MADE ON A GRILL.

DON’T WORRY ABOUT SOOT LIKE SOME FOLKS. THERE IS NONE IF YOUR COALS ARE HOT ENOUGH BEFORE YOU PUT YOUR UTENSILS ON IT.

    GOOD LUCK
