no that is silly. lockjaw is a sign of tetanus (which by the way is NOT cause by a rusty nail) food poisoning is an entriely different thing and it not caused by cooking somethingin a particular type of vessel but BY not cooking something long enough.

people have been cooking in copper for years, never heard of this one though, but have heard of dangers from microwave ovens and styrophome and plastic containers being used.

Cooking over a copper fire pit is not the cause for someone contracting lockjaw which by the way is tetanus food poisoning is caused by tainted or spoiled food being consumed, or improper cooking of both.
